Evil wins

This is the only film noir that is color. this movies a story about a detective, Gittes, whose job is to find husbands who cheat on their wives. One day he gets an assignment, but he is tricked. He then works with Evelyn, to find why her husband dies. But whenever he tries to help someone, he ends up making it worse. thats why hte cop say its China Town. Overall this was a descent movie. The opening scene was good start for this kind of film. Unlike many other detective movies, Gittes is a total different detective. He is funny, not hardtalker, not so serious. He is smart with getting around stuffs. The acting is great in this film and so is the characters. Gittes does a great job all around, so does Evelyn. Evelyn is a mysterious charcter. first i believed her when she said she was telling the truth, but then i changed my mind. I think I just went along with what Gittes was thinking, whether he trusted her or not. I didn't like the ending because Evelyn dies and it made me feel that evil always win. And we are left without knowing what will happen to het characters. for example, what happened to Gittes, and whether Cross will rape his daughte/granddaughet or not. Overall this film was descent.
